Anime Blues Con

Hey guys! So this is super late, like a week or two late and I'm sorry about that. So I went to Anime Blues Con in Memphis TN and I had my own Anime Lovers Delight Booth! :D Yay! I passed out a lot of cards and tried to build readership (ironic because I was late on my post.... 0.0 hmmm I should work on that) and what not. So at my booth a lot of people came by and spoke to me about a thousand different animes and that was by far the best part of the convention for me! I loved speaking to so many people about our common interest. I recommended Wolf's Rain, Chrono Crusade, Ga Rei Zero, and Rin Daughters of Mnemosyne mostly however one fellow came up to me saying he loved romantic comedies and I recommended B Gata H Kei: Yamada's First Time and My Bride is a Mermaid. Congratulations Memphis! Your people really know their stuff! The second biggest highlight was the Sleeping Samurai panel that was open 24 hours a day. :D It was amazing. You went in, paid two dollars and used a foam katana to beat up your friends! XD It was so fun and exciting. I got a few real tips from my friend Aaron who also hosted a self defense panel where you learned easy ways to defend yourself in real life, you know, simple moves that anyone could do. I wish I could have attended the panel, however I couldn't...I was at my booth XD Well after that I didn't get to go to many panels, however they did have a maid cafe, I miss it so much. Every convention I go to I miss the maid cafe! It was horrible! I wanted to go but I never got the chance. I closed up my panel and went to the rave with some friends, however I have to say I was really disappointed in the Blues Con rave. It was a huge disappointment. First of all they played radio dub-step music.....not what you play at a rave for people how go AGAINST the radio most of the time. :/ Sooo bad music first of all. There was a small turn out really and almost EVERYONE (95% of the rave goers) were all crowded around the stage listening to this one guy talk and cheer....I definitely go to a rave to dance, not adore one person on the stage. :/ No offence to him, I'm sure he's very nice, but I don't go there to worship. So yeah, not to mention he got people up on the stage, cool right? Well most of them were very attractive girls who were grinding and licking faces...it was sick. I don't wanna see them having sex on stage either. So lets see: Bad music, poor turn out, sex on stage, and idol worship. OH! And, get this, no bags. In the past it's been no big bags and they searched your bag before you entered, that's fine, that perfect. But Most rave clothing don't have pockets...HOW ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO CARRY YOUR CELL PHONE?! What if there is an emergency? "Sorry doctor, I couldn't come and tell you that she was allergic to that medication because I was in a rave and didn't have my phone on me because I didn't have pockets." That's going to play out well. :/ I love you Victor, you are my big black man and I love ya for enforcing the rules, but that one kind of bugged me. :/ Side Note: Also....freaking M-TAC this year. Their rave seemed cool, but five minuets into it I found some dude's phone and the staff WOULDN'T TAKE IT! Definitely my most angry moment at any convention in my whole life. the man told me they didn't do that....he wouldn't even hold the phone! He wouldn't go turn it into hotel security for me or anything. Its not like he is going to have to wait in line to get back in the rave...he works there. I was so close to throwing the phone at his head and kicking him in a bunch of horrible places. I ended up having to leave the rave to give the guy back his phone and I ended up yelling at him. :/ I never got back in the rave that I waited all year for. Feel horrible M-TAC staff, you hired a douche. yup I said it. Now that that is over though....*ahem* -calms down- Blues Con had some really big speakers, for instance, Lord Zed from Power Rangers. Heard he was really good. They had a ton of great artists there and the dealer room (while small) had some great deals. :) My conclusion of Blues Con: A little disappointing in some area, but over all a good weekend. :) Glad I did it.

When You Miss Something....

So, sometimes I'll read a manga or watch an anime and suddenly something occurs to me.....I'm missing something. There is something in this plot line that is missing, and it is glaringly obvious like some kind of big, empty vortex or a hole that actually sucks up the story line into some alternate universe where it makes sense and you just can't get there...meanwhile you are left on the other side of the vortex missing that information. Alright....whatever right? Maybes its a mixed plot line where its scattered and you'll find out later? Oh no....then you see a small annotation that tells you 'refer to the video game for the PS2' and you're entire world shatters right then and there because you realize that's why you're missing the information. No it can't be like Marvel comics where the have annotations that tells you to refer to a different issue for more back story on that detail.....no it's refer to that video game. However we are anime lovers and manga readers...we are not video gamers! D: If we were would we be reading this stupid manga? No! We'd be fighting monsters on the PS2...... so now it you like the manga enough and you want to understand the story you have to go out and spend the money on the game and mow your friend's lawn in order to borrow their PS2 or mow your lawn to earn the money to buy your own PS2 and then figure out some way to earn three years worth of gaming skills in order to actually finish the game and finish the story line......or you have to look up walk throughs and trust wikipedia and gather small bits of information from around the web until you feel confident enough that you have the whole story. the sequel to the latter however is that three months later someone mentions that secret love interest or that final hidden boss that changed the plot line entirely and you are like 'What?! No! I finished that manga a week ago--......oh.....you uh......you meant from the video....the video game....ARGH!' You scream and pull out your hair and for the next three months you rely on your cosplay wigs. =.= You see? You see the horrible result from splitting story lines from video games and manga?! Balding. That is the result. Here are things that okay: -Having different story lines for the manga, the anime, the video game, and the visual novel. -Adding extra details and twists to each different version of the story. Here is what is not okay: -Intertwining them all so that if you read or watch one of the mediums you MUST partake in all the mediums in order to understand ANYTHING that is going on. A good example of this was Disgaea.....I read the manga 'Disgaea 2' you know, with Rozalin and all? Ooooh such a yummy story line for the comic romantics! However it had that annotation to refer to the video game and when I finished that volume I never picked it up again because the next part was on a video game. 0.0 this is possibly one of the most annoying things ever done to me. following in a close second is when a manga author refuses to put out more than one volume of multiple mangas and when the anime makes no sense by the end because they cut out too much and you are FORCED to read through the manga for hidded clues and details that were lost in the animation process. Thats it for today. XD The X factor, the void in so many mangas today was the topic. The conclusion? It annoys me. Very deeply. hahaha. If I wanted to play the video game I would, if I was GOOD at video games I would play them...but I'm not so I read manga and watch anime.... Have a good day guys!

AMV of the Week

Black Rock Shooter! Yay! The Anime Music Video of the Week is a video for Black Rock Shooter, a short anime film that is just plain great, to the song Unbreakable. Not much to say other than that, great anime and the song is fitting to the movie. Hopefully I can do a review of it soon so you can really know what I'm talking about, or, even better, check it out your self! :D

(Honestly I really liked this song, I'll admit the guitar in some parts aren't exactly easy on the ears, but for the most part I really like this song and I kind of think it sounds epic. :) )

Song: Unbreakable
Artist: Fireflight
Anime: Black Rock Shooter
Lyrics:

Where are the people that accused me?
The ones who beat me down and bruised me
They hide just out of sight
Can't face me in the light
They'll return but I'll be stronger

God, I want to dream again
Take me where I've never been
I want to go there
This time I'm not scared
Now I am unbreakable, it's unmistakable
No one can touch me
Nothing can stop me

Sometimes it's hard to just keep going
But faith is moving without knowing
Can I trust what I can't see?
To reach my destiny
I want to take control but I know better

God, I want to dream again
Take me where I've never been
I want to go there
This time I'm not scared
Now I am unbreakable, it's unmistakable
No one can touch me
Nothing can stop me

Forget the fear it's just a crutch
That tries to hold you back
And turn your dreams to dust
All you need to do is just trust

God, I want to dream again
Take me where I've never been
I want to go there
This time I'm not scared
Now I am unbreakable, it's unmistakable
No one can touch me
Nothing can stop me

God, I want to dream again
Take me where I've never been
I want to go there
This time I'm not scared
Now I am unbreakable, it's unmistakable
No one can touch me
Nothing can stop me

Rin Daughters of Mnemosyne - Anime Review

Hey guys, so while choose the AMV of the Week I spotted a few videos for Rin: Daughters of Mnemosyne and started listening to some of the music from the sound track and I realized what it reminded me of! Wolf's Rain! So here we go.

If you've seen Wolf's Rain and liked it, go you, you'd LOVE Rin: Daughters of Mnemosyne, and if you didn't like it....well there might be something wrong with you, go to a doctor.
If you haven't seen Wolf's Rain then read below for farther confirmation that this anime rocks!

Rin: D.O.M. is a good anime because it catches you right in the very beginning! Fro the first episode you are hooked and you're wondering what is going on and what is going to happen! The series is only six episodes long so every second of it is absolutely amazing! Its like since its a little crammed on time, there isn't a moment wasted on it being dull or anything. There is no filler, simply because there can't be. It is rather adult due to violence and well...uh...adult parts but as long as your mature/old enough then you're all good.

Rin is a small-time detective and takes on cases at her leisure and she works with Mimi, her computer savvy friend who holds down the fort at the office and handles paper work and what not while Rin goes out and does the leg work. It sounds pretty laid back...until you see the leg work in the first five minuets of the anime... OH and, did I forget to mention....they live forever?
Rin and Mimi are carriers of something called a 'Time Fruit' little fruits from an ancient, magical tree and when these fruits enter women's bodies, the woman becomes immortal, however when the fruits enter a man's body he turns into a super power demon thing called an angel to to the fact that they can fly thanks to wing like growths on their back. Things just got complicated.
The entire series takes you with Rin and Mimi as they do their best to survive against a mysterious, and constant, pursuer, Apos. Not to mention some mysterious hit-woman who is taking every chance she can get to try and kill Rin! And while she succeeds many times, much to her dismay, Rin always comes back.
Through the anime Rin and Mimi take a case or two and do their best to do some good along the way as the anime moves well over fifty years in the future!

If the summary didn't catch your attention this should:
The characters are just to die for!
Every single one has a past and is well rounded. Rin is hard core and takes the missions and the severe physical damage while she's also beautiful and smart, not to mention kind....uh...unless you get on her bad side.
While Mimi is a little nerdy and super sweet, and she avoids physical fights mostly. These are the two main characters you see the most of and as the anime continues on you learn more about both of them and how they met and their pasts. Watch the anime and meet the rest of the characters. :D

And finally, if that didn't catch your attention here's the trailer!

Finally, Rin reminds me of Wolf's Rain in more than one way. Both have deep, involved plots with laid back, calming music. Kind of like something you'd hear in a coffee shop.... Now Wolf's Rain isn't quite as bloody as Rin, but they do both have some blood. However the biggest similarity between them is that after its over....it will leave you scratching your head saying,"Whaaaaaaaaaaaaat?" Then you'll have to watch the anime again to make sure you got everything! XD So if you got Inception easily, give Rin: D.O.M. a try and just see if it doesn't make you think a little harder.

So that's about it. The anime is deep, filled with action and blood, and smart amazing women. There's even a little bit of romance ;) All in all I LOVED this anime....even if I did have to watch it again just to understand it. haha

AMV Of The Week! - The Secret World of Arrietty (Kari-gurashi no Arietti)

Hey guys, first of all I saw 'The Secret World of Arrietty' tonight with my friend. I love Hayao Miyazaki but dear god I am sick of movies about FRIENDSHIP!

The movie is 1hr 34min‎‎, rated G‎‎, and its genres are animation,action,adventure,sci-fi, and fantasy‎. I know its animated and its rated G, but I wouldn't recommend it for kids. Its a great movie and the animation is amazing, but its also very calm. (Not surprising for a Miyazaki or Studio Ghibli.) Most younger children seem to need something kind of fast paces and flashy with lots of jokes or action. -Also the kids in the movie with me WOULD NOT FREAKING SIT STILL! I seriously almost yelled at their parents or caretakers or whatever because it was just terrible, they kept running around, squealing and screaming, and one kicked my seat a bunch!- -I'm starting to hate movie theaters...and I'm going to suggest a law for all children under the age of 8 to be kept on leashes, dogs are more well behaved than them!- *ahem* Anyways. This movie also has some very deep topics that children won't really understand. One of the main characters, Shawn, is sickly and he has fully prepared for his death and is actually kind of morbid at one point...yeah, right? not something a child would understand since he was so calm and serene about it. None of the kids in the movie seemed to REALLY get what was going on.

The movie is based off of the book, The Borrowers, and it was really great, for people who understood it. The movie starts off with Arrietty, freshly 14, who is fully ready to go out on her first borrowing mission! As the movie goes on she goes on a huge adventure.....around the floorboards and in the backyard of the house! XD It certainly was interesting, but like I said it isn't very action oriented. A lot of the movie is mostly inner turmoil and subtle outside factors, its kind of complicated to explain how it made me hold my breath, yet at the same time kept me relaxed and feeling rather serene.

So to finish up, the movie was really good, I'd recommend it to anyone who can sit still a little longer than an hour or who could appreciate the quality of the movie and the storyline.

Comparison Movie:
I'd compare this movie to spirited away in many way. For one, both of them have plots that go way deeper that just what you SEE in the movie and you have to read between the lines to really understand what the characters are going through and how they change throughout the movie because its just fascinating, and really, half the plot is there! Also, the soundtracks, Spirited Away had a really peaceful soundtrack, and so does Arrietty, I loved the music for it! :) And finally, the friendship. Arrietty meets Shawn, a human, and the two become close friends and learn different things from each other that improve them over all, not unlike Chihiro and Haku. If you liked Spirited Away, you'd really like The Secret World of Arrietty. :)

(SPOILERS ---- ?????)
For all you romance lovers out there who hated Spirited Away, maybe you don't go see this movie. I love romance movies, and I love Spirited Away.....but I hated the ending. I mentioned before that the two movies are similar but I felt the same way about both of them. Loved the movies itself, hated the ending. I feel like both of them are unfinished and left me wanting a LITTLE more because in BOTH of them what I thought would be romance turned out to be friendship. This is a common theme in Miyazaki and Ghibli movies, friendship and nature are their big things, if you area romance seeker then maybe they just aren't for you. :/

And that's about it, the movie was good and calming. :) You have to appreciate inner subtle plots to really enjoy it though I think.

Now, the AMV of the Week.

This week I choose one simply because it was fun and it just really FITS the anime with it! XD I didn't choose it for the song though, so just be ready to laugh! XD

I think this song really fits with Tamaki.... XD hahaha, he's so flamboyant and just is...he's just rich, pretty, and proud!

The song this week is by Toybox, I don't think they are Japanese, in fact I'm very sure they aren't. XD But there are a lot of people who use their music for AMVs and usually is you mention them at an anime convention everyone knows who you're talking about. Sooooo yeah, that's why they make the cut. XD Enjoy the video!

Song: SuperStar
Artist: Toybox
Anime: Ouran High School Host Club.
Lyrics:

AMV Of The Week! :D Yay! -A little Joke-

Hey guys! This week's AMV is absolutely awesome! This song fits the anime so perfectly and it is for one of my favorite animes: Ga Rei Zero!

Song: Black Black Heart
Artist: David Usher
Anime: Ga Rei Zero

Lyrics:

Something ugly this way comes
Through my fingers sliding inside
All these blessings all these burns
I'm godless underneath your cover
Search for pleasure search for pain
In this world now I am undying
I unfurl my flag my nation helpless

Black black heart why would you offer more
Why would you make it easier on me to satisfy
I'm on fire I'm rotting to the core
I'm eating all your kings and queens
All your sex and your diamonds

As I begin to lose my grip
On these realities your sending
Taste your mind and taste your sex
I'm naked underneath your cover
Covers lie and we will bend and borrow
With the coming sign
The tide will take the sea will rise and time will rape

Black black heart why would you offer more
Why would you make it easier on me to satisfy
I'm on fire I'm rotting to the core
I'm eating all your kings and queens
All your sex and your diamonds

Black black heart why would you offer more
Why would you make it easier on me to satisfy
I'm on fire I'm rotting to the core
I'm eating all your kings and queens
All your sex and your diamonds
All your sex and your diamonds
All your sex and your diamonds
All your sex and your diamonds
All your sex and your diamonds

last chance guys, I'm trusting you here, go watch the anime!

Alright here we go!
haha suckers they thought there were spoilers!

.........
nope I caught you! go watch the anime!

Alright but getting more serious now. Forgive me its almost 11:45 and my mind is turning to mush.

Thins song is perfect for Ga Rei Zero because in the end its like, Yomi doesn't WANT to turn evil, but it seems like she's given very little choice in the matter and she only truly turns evil, if you can even say truly ever, is after she's LOST HER GRIP on her life after her father dies and her fiancee doesn't visit her and then her sister thinks she actually killed someone. So so yeah she turns evil still, but doesn't want too and just can't go against it and she faces severe inner turmoil during her injury and after she is taken over by the bane stone.

Anime Music Video Of The Week

Hey guys! I'm coming to you a little late at night, but its still Saturday so you know what that means! The Anime Music Video Of The Week! Yay! Without further adieu here we go! This week the anime music video is one I recently added to the Anime Lovers Delight Playlist on the side. Its called "Again" and its by Yui. It was a huge anime opening that swept across youtube and got many 'likes' from anime lovers. So this week we are giving the opening for Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood a thumbs up, get ready to click your thumbs up like buttons guys!

Song: Again
Artist: Yui
Lyrics:
(these might be for the full song I think btw. hope you enjoy it!)

I thought I was running after something carried over from my dreams,
Yet I'm stumbling into people on this narrow, winding road.

It's not like I want to go back to the way things were back then,
I'm just searching for the sky I've lost.
I hope you understand.
Stop making that sad face as though you were a victim.

Sins don't end with tears,
You have to carry the pain forever.
who am I waiting for in this maze with no exit in sight?
a blank notebook.
make me want to release my feelings more and more
What do I want to escape from?
... is it reality?

makes me want to scream that we live on do u hear me? i cant play it safe no more ... I've got nowhere to go home to.
There's still so much in life to remove this feeling.
(I'm on the way)
I even welcome this pain
for the things I miss

I have to apologize for this. Ah, I'm sorry.
I can't say it well. I'm just causing worry.

Everything that I embraced that day. Everything that I will embrace tomorrow
I will not arrange them in any order.
I hope you understand. I closed my eyes
but I could still see things I do not want to see.

From the useless rumors, which one was it that i heard first?
"Face it and you will be friends"
Don't tell lies like these.
My heart being agitated from deep inside,
a burning sensation runs through my body.
Actually I'm expecting something
from this thing called "reality".

It makes me want to scream that we're alive
For things to come true. Can you hear me?
I can't put up with playing it safe.
... I've got nowhere to go home to.
I'm always grateful for kindness
That's why I want to grow stronger,
(I'm on the way)
...to march on.
I welcome friends and foes.

How do I open the next door? I'm thinking.
I can't take back this story that has begun.
Open your eyes.
Open your eyes.

I still have too long a life ahead
to get rid of these feelings, right?
I want to try doing over
the things I've left undone
Shall we go AGAIN?

It makes me want to scream that we're alive
For things to come true. Can you hear me?
I can't put up with playing it safe.
... I've got nowhere to go home to.
I'm always grateful for kindness
That's why I want to grow stronger,
(I'm on the way)
I even welcome this pain
for the things I miss

Right or Wrong? Redemption for the AMV of the Week?

Recently I spoke with my most frequent reader and my strongest supporter, my dad. :) He voiced his opinion about the Anime Music Video of the week and said he hated it. XD I hate to say it, but I can see his point. He is very focused on how the song sounds and the lyrics and well, yeah, the lyrics don't make a lot of sense.... and I can understand him not liking the song. XD

But here is why I love it so much:
1. Its catchy and I looooove the song, it gets stuck in my head and I felt epic all day with it, like I should be in my own anime opening. :3
2. I was blinded by the gorgeous animation and character design. :/ Sorry, in the future I will judge it more on the song and less on the animation of it I suppose, but this week, that's what got it to the Music Video of the week: The animation and the uniqueness of it. I don't see a lot of anime endings like that and it was really interesting. :3 Sooo yeah, sorry if you didn't like the song but just watch the video then tell me what you think of it. :3 Still disagree with me, then let me know and I'll work to make the next week's song better :)

Cosplay Ideas?

So MTAC is coming up and I'm going with a huge group of friends. Time to start stalking up on fake eyelashes and what not right? lol Well one of my favorite things about anime conventions is getting a chance to cosplay! Yeah! We decided we would do a huge group cosplay as kingdom hearts together and it will be totally awesome, I called dibs on Aqua (cause she is awesome)and now I have to find two more cosplays.

Well one more really, I want to go as Rin from Daughters of Mnemosyne sunday because sundays we are like packing up and its hectic and crazy and just like whoa! lol And Rin's costume is pretty simple, she wears a green suit and glasses XD so yeah. And I like doing laid back costumes the last day of the con., partly because of what I just said, and partly because the night before I usually stayed til' three in the morning raving! XD haha I'm a dancin' animal! XD *Ahem* anyways, so yeah. You don't want to save your best cosplay for last. :/

For my first cosplay I thought that I would go as Beatrice from Umineko cause her golden witch party dress is just stunning, but I found that it was really hard to find in good quality. Cosplaying is just so expensive that if I don't LOVE the costume, then I just can't afford to buy it. :/ sad right? Well anyways, if its isn't good quality, I'm not paying over 100 dollars for it. I just wont. So now I'm left find another awesome cosplay. :/ And the search goes on. I've considered a few different ones but none of them really works, you know?
I tried:
Beatrice - Umineko
Victorique - Gosick
Zelda - Twilight Princess
Yomi - Ga Rei Zero (

Well who knows, maybe I can come up with something better after I compile a list of all the anime I've seen and all the anime I need to see and my favorite girls from animes. :)

Anime Music Video Of The Week!

Alrighty guys, I"m going to do my best and post up an anime music video for the week every Saturday starting today! :D

This week I've chosen the K-ON first ending. :) I love the characters design and outfits. The song is great, and the animation is clean and beautiful. Not only that, but its a very unique ending, very...involved? I guess I'd say. A lot of times endings are really dull or just pictures or the character walking through scenes or something, nothing wrong with that, but I LOVE interesting endings. So yeah, this week its the first K-ON ending. :) Check it out.

Anime: K-ON
Song: Don't Say Lazy
Artist: Yoko Hikasa with Aki Toyosaki , Satomi Sato and Minako Kotobuki

English Lyrics:

(Lyrics Provided By: http://atashi.wordpress.com/2009/04/22/k-on-ending-theme-dont-say-lazy/ )

Vocals: Sakura High K-ON Club (Toyosaki Aki, Hikasa Yoko, Sato Satomi, Kotobuki Minako as Hirasawa Yui, Akiyama Mio, Tainaka Ritsu, Kotobuki Tsumugi)
Lyrics: Omori Shoko
Composition: Maezawa Hiroyuki
Arrangement: Komori Shigeo

Please don’t say “You are lazy”
But the truth is, I’m crazy
The swans, I’m sure
Give flutter kicks at a place that you can’t see
I’m instinctively obedient and loyal; I’m well aware of that I get trifled with
Plus my future’s looking bright…
So sometimes, I take a break

Firmly ascertaining it with my eyes
Marking my destination on the map
If there’s a shortcut, then it’s the easy way out
If I’ve got wings that can let me skip things, too, then that’s the best

Oh no, I broke a nail; so I repaired it with glue
With just that, I feel kind of accomplished
What’s important is loving yourself
If you don’t love yourself, then no one else can love you

Please don’t say “You are lazy”
But the truth is, I’m crazy
A capable hawk, I’m sure
Hides its picks at a place that you can’t see
I do my hardest to daydream; the reality drives me desperate
Plus I’m still in mid-development…
So unexpectedly, I go off-pitch

Even if you just don’t see me
My motivation blows the meter
Dreaming with all my might
Sleeping enough for you with all my might

I did it, I got a little thinner; I got so proud that I ate stuff
With just that, why do I feel like it defeated the point?
I promptly adjusted my goal downwards
Adapting with flexibility to the occasion and changing inside-out will let me win

Please don’t say “You are lazy”
But the truth is, I’m crazy
The peacocks, I’m sure
Can charm you here and now
I push on with my entire body and insides; my wish is to be slim and pretty
Plus temptations come up a lot…
So my will gets completely shattered

Oh no, it can’t be the Red Point?! No way, I barely cleared it!
With just that, I feel like I can do everything
What’s important is acknowledging yourself
If you don’t forgive yourself, then no one else can forgive you

Please don’t say “You are lazy”
But the truth is, I’m crazy
The swans, I’m sure
Give flutter kicks at a place that you can’t see
I’m instinctively obedient and loyal; I’m well aware of that I get trifled with
Plus my future’s looking bright…
So sometimes, I take a break

Kyoko - Updated! (Reminders!) Apology

Alright everyone, first of all I would like to say Yay! And thank you to everyone who helped me out with creating the new headers! Yeah, I drew Kyoko and everything and designed the header and her outfit, but my dad(my awesome amazing father) scanned the picture into the computer and I got like fifty opinions from friends of mine and I used class time to design it a bit soo yeah. I got some help with it and thank you to everyone who helped me out with that along the way. Thanks to everyone who helped me out we have this awesome new header that looks sooo great, especially compared the the previous headers. :) As I'm sure you can tell, Kyoko looks a ton better, which she is relieved about because she is a little vain lol. But hey, if I looked like her I would be too! XD

So yeah Hooray for the updated header! :D

Also! Reminding everyone that if you want to submit your favorite anime girl or anime for the lists I am currently making you can submit those to me on Facebook, a Comment below, or on Twitter. (if you can figure out how XD) -the forms are below :) -

Finally, the Apology...

I realize that some of you may like a mainstream or a gateway anime or something that I have mentioned in a few posts and 'bashed' a bit. All in good fun of course, however I do realize that you could get offended. my friend was reading over a post or two and as he was reading it, he stumbled upon a comment about One Piece and how i was mocking it...a bit... >.< Alright I was mocking it a lot, but come on! Its One Piece! D:< Anyways *composes self* he got a little offended and tried to defend it, I wouldn't listen obviously because I have little patience for those kinds of things, however I realized that I can be a tad bit harsh. So if you liked an anime that I make fun or or poke fun at, remember its just my opinion, not yours. So if you get offended, I am really, very sorry, but it is honestly just for fun. :/ Soo yeah I guess that's my apology, I don't know if that quite counts as an apology but that's the best your going to pull from me because I won't apologize completely for my opinions. >.< (Also, just note that I'm NOT apologizing for my opinion, just for making fun of the anime you like very, very harshly...)

And that concludes the post! Everyone have a great day and thanks for reading!

Convention Skills: Makeshift-Male-Cosplays

Convention Skills: Makeshift-Male-Cosplays :)

So, previously I did a post about easy, makeshift cosplays for women, well they are super easy to do, but right now I'm going to give a few good ideas for guy costumes. First of all you can always put to use old Halloween costumes, you might want to drag them out and see what you can do with them. The biggest thing about making your own cosplays is getting creative.

1. Ninja - Its not hard to fins some black pants, black shirt, and to cut up a black ski-mask, iota classic. Everyone knows that, but if you want to make it look a little more like a ninja and a little less like a home invasion you can cut up some red(or any color you want) fabric and tie it around your waist like a belt and your wrists and ankles, ninjas always have those touches for some reason. :)

2. Pirate - Find an over-sized white shirt, cut out the collar and make a vertical cut about an inch or two down the front, get a white shoe lace or something and cut a few small holes to lace up the cut you just made. :) After that find a tight pair of black pants and some black/brown boots would be nice to add to the effect. To make it look a little more complete get a pirate hat and a thick belt.

3. Fighter-Guy - Clean up your chest and go shirtless or find some white fabric and cut it into strips and wrap your self up like they are bandages. After that put on some loose white pants, use a black piece of fabric for a belt and tie it at the front. Finally get some more fabric and cut it into long strips, use that to wrap up your hands like boxers do and your all set, wear whatever shoes you want/think looks best. :)

4. Romantic Guy - Put on a suit and make your hair look nice, there are tones of guys in anime who wear suits/tuxedos and if you walk around the convention in that you will probably get girls running up to you asking if you are "this" character from "this" anime...just shake your head yes and smile.

5. Steam-Punk - This isn't really a cosplay but if you have some steam punk accessories wear those with some funky hair! :D You'll get a lot of compliments!

6. School Guy - Find an old school uniform or find a few things that look like one, some khaki pants, a blazer, and a white button up shirt. :) Lots of animes are just school uniforms!

That's about all I can think of right now but don't forget that a little hair gel goes a long way :) and that you don't have to dress up like any particular character or even a character from an anime. (I guess you don't have to dress up at all really, but its so much more fun to dress up! :D )

B Gata H Kei: Yamada's First Time (anime review)

Sooo I started watching this hilarious anime tonight. Its called B Gata H Kei: Yamada's first time. I just finished the first episode and it was absolutely, without a doubt, one of the funniest animes I've ever seen in my whole, entire life.

I have to admit it is a little...adult. It is only for mature audiences, I'd say probably 7th or 8th grade up. (You know middle schoolers know these things! If not they NEED to! XD lol ) Anyways....

The series is about a young, amazingly pretty girl, Yamada, in her first year of high school...and her mission to sleep with 100 guys in high school! XD However, I know most of you might be thinking hentai, but she can't even get her first kiss (not for lack of trying or her super hot body or her adorable personality I'd like to say). She has set her sights on plain-jane, very-virgin, Kosuda for his sure lack of experience with women. However her lack of experience is obvious when she teases him, bullies him, flashes him, ignores him, and runs away from him. How much can one guy put up with?!

Either way I barely stopped laughing the whole time and the occasional, sweet romance is nice and refreshing. :3 It brought me much joy. If you are in the 8th grade+, don't mind the occasional panty shot/bra, and love to laugh I suggest you watch this romantic comedy because it is hilarious!

(Also, I'd like to point out now that I also like My Bride Is A Mermaid. Its hilarious too :) so if you like this one, check out that anime too. I'll do a review of My Bride Is A Mermaid soon.)

Kyoko: Wide Variety - Blues Con Booth! - Order? HA! I Think Not!

I'm starting to think up a few more themes for Kyoko. When summer comes around, of course, I'm going to be featuring a few special summer stories and Kyoko will change into a bathing suit. 2011, because she was so new, I didn't really have any special pictures of her for Christmas or New Years or anything but don't worry, that will change soon. So wish me luck on costume designs for our Cosplay Kitty Mascot - Kyoko! :D

Now, onto other business. Tomorrow I will be submitting a form to get a booth at Anime Blues Con. (ABC) in Memphis TN. I really hope I will be able to get a booth and pick up more readers there. I'm sure we all want more readers for Anime Lovers Delight. So, on that topic, I'm looking for someone to play Kyoko at my booth if I get it! If any of you have some ideas as to who could help me out I would love some suggestions. :) But remember, don't tell me anyone you don't want to see revealed a bit because she will be in Kyoko's signature Maid Cafe outfit unless I decide it should be different at the last minuet, unlikely because I LOVE her maid outfit! :D It's so sexy and adorable!

Now in the past i've tried to post weekly or monthly or semi monthly or whatever....I am ashamed to say that I have upheld no expectations for myself in that area. Honestly, I can try as hard as I like to post on a regular basis, but the moral of the story is....I am just not an orderly person and when I get an idea for an article I'll do it right then so I won't forget it and if I don't have an idea for a few weeks, sure I'll try to think of something because I want to post AT LEAST once a month! But yeah...the bottom line is I'm sorry. I know its so much better to post on specific increments of time but look at the bright side! It's always a surprise when you open up the blog! you could check it one week, and sure you might be a little disappointed that there isn't a new post, but then you open it up the next day and BAM! There is it prettier than a perfectly wrapped gift on Christmas! A new post! Then you will be able to thank the gods I finally posted and do whatever ritual you do in my honor before or after you read my post, whenever you choose! XD Sorry I couldn't help but joke a little!

So thats about it. I'm trying to come up with more costumes for our cosplay kitty because she loves to dress up, I'm applying for a booth at ABC, and I can never hope to post in any kind of specific incremental order.

Latest Books -Forgiven- Mysteries

Hey guys, so I just finished one of the best books I've ever read. I read the first one last year, its called "Jessica's Guide to Dating on the Dark Side" and it is so thrilling that I honestly can't keep quiet about it. I recently discovered that the wedding chapters are online and that the sequel, "Jessica Rules the Dark Side" had come out as well so I read the first one again, I soon grew addicted to the thrilling, romantic book and as soon as I snapped the first one shut I got on the computer, reading the wedding chapters, then rushed to the book store and bought the second one. From the time I got home until about an hour ago, except for sleep, I didn't put the book down. Despite my headache from my tense shoulders I continued reading, unable to rest decently without knowing how it ended. Bath Fataskey is one of the best authors I've ever read due to the way she writes. The book is told from Jessica's point of view and as you read through it she pulled you into the book, making you feel just like Jessica would and as if every character were real live people. This book touches me in a way that it is impossible for any sort of movie, anime, or manga...and they make me shiver and cry at some points. I can't stop raving about the book, but that isn't the only reason I can't keep quiet. As I read through the vivid book I laughed, cried, screamed, and swooned and felt every emotion to the max, I gritted my teeth at tense moment, blushed at romantic ones, and couldn't tear my eyes from the book as it drove me mad and I drank in the words that were like heaven as they pulled me into the book.

I know there are a lot of teenagers right now who are like 'vampires suck since twilight and I'm not jumping on the band wagon' I warn you, I have NOT jumped on the band wagon, although I have read, AND THOROUGHLY ENJOYED vampire books. Lets face it though, vampires are something all human kind has been obsessed with ever since they entered into our imaginations and lurked in the dark corners of our mind. What fascinates us about them is the fact that they rule the darkness and are obscure to us. What makes them romantic to girls is the same reason bad boys excite us. We love the idea of a man being tormented and slowly dragged into a world of craving for us...for our blood, and us having to tame them and keep them from the brink of insanity as they battle their true dark nature to not hurt us! Yeah....there is no shame in wanting a guy to crave you, or even have a huge battle inside himself or with someone else over you. So while I hate twilight and most generic vampire books, you are all forgiven if you like something like that...but only if you read Jassica's Guide to Dating on the Dark Side because that book is by far one of the most romantic, most exciting books I've ever read....*lost in thought as I drool over the love between Jessica and Lucius that I wish I had with him* Anyways, my favorite quality about the romance of this book is the vampire outlook on it. Techniquely they don't believe vampires can love, they can feel passion, but so far the only exception has been Lucius and Jessica because their love excells all bounds...but I'm losing the point.

In this book, after a couple share blood and get married, they are fiercely loyal to one another..it is an eternal bond that can never be broken and it is just so romantic to think about it...eternity with someone you love and never fearing or distrusting them ever again because you two have shared one of the most sacred moments any two beings could ever share. *I shiver at the very thought of it and I know I must go re-read every book one more time before I can actually get over this series.*

Now here we go to the mysteries. The second book in the series revolved mostly around how Jessica grows into a true vampire ruler and over comes her weakness inside her in order to save Lucius who has been framed for a murder and if his name is not cleared...he will disappear or will be 'destroyed'. That being said, its a bit of a mystery that one tries to solve as they read through it. Well...I am boasting to say that in the first quarter of the book, if not sooner,I already know who the killer is. *ha. ha. ha. suck on that I rule.* I also noticed something though. I noticed what it takes to hide the murderer from the readers and keep the mystery alive. So far here is what I've learned it takes.

1. Introduce many new characters together.
2. Only have them appear in groups of two or more for the most part.
3. Make them seem innocent.
4. Don't give them much face time and make them seem like a random character who is just an after thought.
5. Slowly reveal a little more about them as they get a little more face time in the book.

These are all things I've noticed in books when people are looking for a killer. You don't see them very much and you rarely see them alone by themselves or one on one with the main character. AND THEY ALWAYS SEEM INSIGNIFICANT!

Sooo thats the post for the day. :) hope you guys liked it.

Your First Convention - Every Basic Convention Skill New Attendees Need To Know

Being new to an anime convention is fine. Everyone has a first time and hopefully your first anime convention was or will be be amazing. I'm putting together this post to try and help out new kids to the anime convention block. I'm doing my best to take you from the first step to the last step and put together a general plot to the convention so you will know what to expect.

Step 1: Pick Your Convention

First of all you have to find a convention. Finding one that is either local or near you in some way is always nice, my first convention was in Nashville, not to far from Memphis, so it was pretty good. It also doesn't necessarily have to be an ANIME convention. There are comic and game conventions as well. If you are a member of GaiaOnline then you know they host conventions all over the United States and GaiaOnline is an online community for the anime crowd, so its familiar territory. Either way you can easily find out about conventions online. There are two annual conventions that I go to every year in TN. The first is MTAC, the Middle Tennessee Anime Convention that is help in Nashville every year, it has been around a long time and is one of the largest (pure anime) anime convention in the mid-south. In Memphis there is Blues Con, it started last year and it is also a pure anime convention, although it is a lot smaller than the MTAC it is still a wonderful anime convention. I attended last year, its first year as I said, and it was much better than anything I had expected from it.

Step 2: Planning - Part 1 Making Arrangements
After you've completed the first step and found your convention, you need to book it. -Getting Passes:
You should first check out the cost of the convention and determine weather you want a full pass or only a one day or two day pass. They vary in price and usually you will want a pass for the whole convention. The bigger the convention the more expensive the pass I've found.
-Living Arrangements:
You need to find out if you will be able to commute from home or if you have to book a hotel. It doesn't hurt to stay with a friend who lives around there and search for random family members who live around the convention as well. Good luck. If you will be needing to stay in a hotel you will need to get online and check out some hotels and the prices. The sooner you book a hotel the closer you can be to the convention. Conventions are usually hosted at a hotel, that being said, the hotel that is hosting it is sometimes filled up to months in advance. So if you want to book that particular hotel, get on it ASAP to make sure you will be able to get a room. If you call and they are booked, don't worry, usually there are many hotels within walking distance and most of the time the hotel will have a shuttle of some kind to get you to the convention.

Registering:
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PRE-REGISTER! You can always pre-register online and the sooner you pre-register the cheaper it will be. The longer you wait the more likely you are to have to pay late fees and what not, for for one it is a money saver. For two, pre-registering will make it a better experience for you and your friends, no one LIKES waiting in the registration line with their friends because they didn't register on time. :/ Either way, don't stress if you don't pre-register though. HOWEVER IF YOU DON'T PRE-REGISTER MAKE SURE YOU KNOW THE REGISTRATION TIMES!!!!!!

If You Don't Pre-Register:

Once you get to the convention, if you haven't pre-registered and you have to register there, there will be time slots designated for it. They are usually some where from 7AM to maybe 12 Noon then again from 7PM to maybe 10PM or something like that, but they aren't always open and if you don't make it in the line before they close then you will have to miss out on the convention until you can register again. Also, there will be two lines, one for people who have pre-registered and one for people who didn't. :P You in the right line and once you get to the front have your money out and tell them what kind of pass you want. (full, one day, two day, parental pass etc.) You will fill out a small form, then get your pass and be on your way, but the ling takes longer.

If You Did Pre-Register:

You will get to the convention, again be sure to pay attention to the registration times and get in the right line, the pre-registration line. Go to the counter, have out your paper work, and show them. They will glance it over maybe and hand you your pass then you will be on your way. (Unless you're waiting on your friend who is still in the back of the registration line XD )

Registration Aftermath: After you successfully register, they will give you a button of a lanyard, something to say that you are registered, you will wear that around and show that when you get into a panel. You will need that everyday, it is your ticket into the convention and without it, if you leave it at the hotel room, you won't get into anything and you will have to go ALL the way back to the hotel to get it. :/ So be sure to hold onto that like you do your hotel room key, it is oh so very important and unless you keep a document of some sort saying you have registered, you will have to buy another pass if you loose yours.

Different Type of Registration Passes:

There are a few different type of passes, a night pass, for the adult time late at night, a one day pass, that will get you in the convention one of the days, two day pass or whatever it will get you in for two days. A full pass that will get you in anytime all the time. (The only exception is if there is an adult panel, then you will carded so they make sure you are 18) Also at most conventions there is a Parental Pass of some sort so that your parent/guardian can get into the convention area, but not into any of the panels and they can find you if they need you or you need them. If you don't see an option for a parental pass then you may wish to inquire about one.

Step 3: Planning - Part 2 - Convention Plans:

Schedule:
After you have chosen a convention, found that your budget allows it and you've made the appropriate arrangements you will now be able to start planning what you will do at the convention. this is especially important if you are going with a group. Most of the time you will be able to get online and see the events and panels. (A panel is a time dedicated to one thing. For instance if you go see an Origami Panel, it will be teaching origami or discussing something about it. There are a variety of panels, most ranging from thirty minuets to an hour.) There will be several large events and guest speakers, like a dance/rave or a famous voice actor.

When you look online you SHOULD ideally be able to get a schedule for the convention that tells you what panels are when and where at the convention. (When I say where I mean which panel room will it be held in.) There is ALWAYS a Dealers Room as well. (The Dealers Room is a room dedicated entirely to buying stuff where vendors can come and sell their anime related items and what not. :) the Dealers room is awesome) Once you have the schedule look it over and highlight some of the panels that look interesting to you and which ones you KNOW you want to attend. If you are going with a group have them do the same and you can make compromises about who will do what and when since you will want to stay with you group the whole time or at least use the buddy system. Make sure you leave some time to sit down and relax, allow some time to eat lunch, and you should always leave time for the Dealers room, but be ready because while there is usually a long line for the Dealer room, it goes by fast and is worth it, so make sure once you get in you have A LOT of time to make sure you look at EVERYTHING! Cause no one likes long lines more than once or twice. :/ (also when you get to the convention don't stress if it doesn't go exactly minuet by minuet, it is a time to relax so don't hurry your friends if they are taking a little more time than you would like, there isn't anything to stress about. :) )

A few last notes:

Cosplay - Cosplay is really expensive if you are one of those people who buys the entire costume, the wig, and the props. If you are going to buy and outfit, make sure the website is reputable and see if you can find some customer feedback or reviews about the costumes. Sometimes you look online and the costume looks great, but there have been several times when I have gotten the costume and been severely disappointed. When looking at the costume online be sure to check out the sizes, most of them are sized differently and will include a chart with height, weight, and the three magic numbers -the chest, the torso, the hips- and what size you need based on that information. In the details area it will also tell you what all is included in the costume. The picture may have the model wearing the wig and more often than not, the wig is not included. You want to make sure you are getting a good quality product that fits you and is what you thought it was.

Anyways, like I said earlier, Cosplay is very expensive so make sure you get costumes that will fit for a long time and you won't get tired of. Make it a character you really love! :D But if this is your first convention, you may not want to spend all that money on a cosplay. That's fine, you don't have to cosplay at the convention, its just really fun. :) And if you still want to cosplay but don't have the money there are lots of cheap DIY makeshift cosplays that are plenty fun too! :D

Convention Terminology:
When you go to an anime convention you'll be talking to a lot of people, and if your a noob they will tell right off the bat because usually beginners tend to ask questions about words that are mostly used on the internet that they probably haven't encountered yet. So for all you beginners out there I have a list of a few terms that you may find useful in regular conversation. throw them out there and just see if your company isn't impressed.

~J-Pop - Japanese pop music. Think Utada Hikaru. :)

~Subbed - The anime has subtitles.

~Dubbed - It's voiced over so that no they speak English(or whatever language its translated into) instead of Japanese(or whatever language it started out as).

~Beginner (anime)
- A beginner anime is one that it isn't too strange. It is usually main stream and it doesn't have any kind of blood and guts or sex or nudity or anything strange. It is pretty much cut and dry, the most basic of anime. Good beginner animes are Yu-Gi-Oh and Inuyasha.

~Mainstream (anime)- Mainstream animes don't have to necessarily be aired on TV in America for them to be mainstream, for instance, the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya is mainstream and it wasn't aired on TV for all Americans to see. Unfortunately though, an anime is main stream BECAUSE its aired on TV, Haruhi Suzumiya was a rather special case. A main stream anime is one that is talked about so much that after a while if you hear one more thing about it you're going to rip out your hair and feed it to the person talking so they will just shut up. Mainstream animes are often overrated and they are usually long with lots of filler that is just boring. I, personally, don't mind one or two filler episodes, but come on, when a season is a hundred episodes long, more than ten need to be plot related!
(On a side note there are Mainstream anime that are only mainstream to anime viewers, like Ouran High School Host Club, if you're at an Anime Convention, chances are almost everyone has seen it -cause its totally awesome an amazing- but if you're in the real world and you ask someone if they liked it, they might look at you like you were crazy and move a few seats away. These animes are, I'll admit, sometimes popular for a reason, cause Ouran was so freaking good! :D )

~Gateway (anime)- A gateway anime means that it usually ushers people in from beginner anime to regular anime. Its like a beginner anime in that it usually isn't too strange and is usually main stream and it doesn't have any kind of blood and guts or sex or nudity or anything strange. These animes usually have more involved plot lines and they are more than fifty episodes long. If an anime is a gateway anime it is long so that the viewer can get really into it, and the plot is involved and usually all twisty turny so that it really gets the viewer hooked. Most of the time, animes that are long are gateway BECAUSE a newer anime watcher doesn't mind filler and filler and filler and extra episodes and filler, but after you've seen a few different animes you tend to be more interested in getting on with the plot instead of the weird episode between plots when they go off on some strange adventure. A good beginner anime is FairyTail or Full Metal Alchemist.

~Underground (anime)- These animes are the best animes of all time. X3 Usually no one has heard of them, they are short, and sweet and just great. A lot of times their titles will still be in Japanese and they are rarely dubbed. A few examples might be Higurashi, Umineko, Chrono Crusade, Wolfs Rain, Majin Tantei Nōgami Neuro, and Ga Rei Zero. They are all amazing animes that not a lot of people have heard of. Most of them have less than forty episodes and the plot line is just amazing.

~Yaoi - Gay manga/anime

~Yuri - Lesbian manga/anime

~Hentai - This is a adult rated anime because it is pretty much porn in anime form.

~Vocaloid
- No, Vocaloid isn't an anime or a manga or a musical artist. When someone says 'vocaloid' they are referring to the program or the characters. Vocaloid is a program that is an artificial voice that you can make sing. (Some how I haven't actually done it myself.) Vocaloid has a whole cast of characters though, Hatsune Miku for example, is a Vocaloid. She isn't from an anime, she is just the product of the Vocaloid program.

~Shojo - A genre of anime/manga. A Shojo manga is a girly one. Their audience is for women and usually they are romantic comedies or even slice of life. ShojoBeat publishes Shojo manga. When someone says Shojo, think along the lines of Kitchen Princess, Mermaid Melody, Sailor Moon, and Love Attack.

~Shonen - A genre of anime/manga. A Shonen manga usually is focus on a male audience, these have lots of action and not a lot of romance usually. Anything that appears in ShonenJump magazine are Shonen manga. Bleach, Naruto, Rosario Vampire, Yu-Gi-Oh

~Abridged Series - An abridged series is when someone takes the anime and shortens it up so that each episode, or few episodes, are only a few minuets long. A lot of times they are comical and poke a bit of fun at the anime. If you haven't you need to go online and watch the YuGiOh Abridged Series and the Dragon Ball Z Abridged Series (both on youtube) because they are great conversation starters. If you have seen the anime or not, and if you loved it or hated it, they are really hilarious. I even liked the Naruto Abridged series! XD They are usually spoof like.

~Visual Novel - A visual novel is a computer game, it is also called a choose your own adventure or a point and click game. You play through the story and can make different decisions, based on the decisions you make the story will have a different out come. :) Sake Visual is a website that hasa lot of visual novels that are usually either free or cheap and its a safe website that I use a lot. :) Sooo here's the link and check them out,. Visual novels are a lot of fun! :D http://sakevisual.com/index.html

And last but not least....
Convention Manners:
When you go to a convention its crowded, there are lots of people, everyone is usually hot and sweaty, and everyone is in a hurry to get somewhere or to get to someone to get their picture. So when you go it is important to remember a few basic rules. If you will, treat like you're at a crowded mall or fair.

- If you sit down, get out of the way and find a proper place to sit, no sitting in the hallway.

-If you do sit on a wall or something, don't put your feet out, keep them close to your person. You wouldn't sit in the middle of the street and put your feet out in front of a car would you? Don't put them out in front of a horde of anime lovers, someone could easily trip or step on you.

- Please don't stand around like high school students dawdling in front of their lockers and block the way for everyone else behind you. Step to the side if you will, but GET OUT OF THE WAY! No one wants to stand behind you while you chat up a cute guy or a friend or try to decide where to go.

- Pictures, getting pictures is fine, keep you camera on you at all time by any means, go ahead. But if you want to get a picture of someone, there is mostly a designated room or area for you to get a picture, if you can go there, if you can't wait until you get out of the hallway and make sure you get out of other people's way to get the picture. You wouldn't want to wait behind someone getting a picture of the tenth Sailor Moon you've seen, so don't do it to someone else. Cause honestly, lets face it, you're in the hallway and suddenly the person in front of you stops to get a picture...this is what your thinking. 'Man do you have to do that right here? I was following that really hot guy to the anime viewing room. And come on! Sailor Moon Cosplayer? I've seen TEN of them today and this one's costume doesn't even look right...oh wait..maybe she's Sailor Venus....That's a strange prop, oh no..that a tail..wait...what? Oh whatever! Just finish your picture and move on!'

-Don't be rude or push people. Don't roll your eyes when someone stand in the middle of the hallways or sigh heavily and make a fuss, tap them on the shoulder and politely suggest that they stand to the side or move along. Its not your job to do that, but if security is no where around making sure people aren't clogging the walking areas, you may have to do something yourself. And DON'T GET VIOLENT! NO MATTER WHAT! YOU WILL BE THROWN OUT OF THE CONVENTION AND BANNED FROM COMING BACK! I think you can stand to hold on in the hallway a second. Again here, you wouldn't want people pushing you or sighing about how you stand around -but your not going to do that right? cause you read the rules above, right?- so don't be all high and mighty and do it to someone else, you're not perfect, neither are they. Also if you're in a hurry, don't push people out of your way or elbow your way out of the crowd, be patient.

- ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS USE THE BUDDY SYSTEM! I don't care if your grown and I don't care if you don't think anyone would wanna rape you to take you or whatever. I don't care if you think you're grown and just because you have a bottle of mace you can take on anyone. I'll admit, anime conventions are great and full of great people, I'm not questioning that. I meet nothing but friendly people at anime conventions, but they are just any other huge crowd you will see anywhere else. Just because they are at the convention doesn't mean they are a good person. So when you're at the convention keep a buddy system so someone knows where you are at all the time, keep someone you trust with you, don't leave with strangers even if your buddy is with you. Its easy to meet great people at anime conventions, but it is just as easy to get snatched at one. I have freaked out several times because I couldn't find my buddy and I was deathly afraid they'd been snatched and kidnapped and were getting raped and would get thrown in a dumpster. I mean I found them an everything, but still, it isn't pleasant.

-Hygiene - Keep it in mind. Take showers, brush your teeth, bite the bullet on the cancerous deodorant or antiperspirant and use it, if your feet smell keep your shoes on. There are lots of things you can do to to make sure your don't smell. And the convention will be crowded and hot enough without you protesting to not shower or wash your hair or wear deodorant or something to cover up you stink. We get it, you think perfumes are too girly and you WILL NOT succumb to man's way of forcing women to smell like flowers....but for gods sake use some fabreeze or SOMETHING! (Also, if you sweat a lot, bring along some baby powder, you can get them in scents like cucumber melon and lavender and if you pat a little where you sweat it will absorb the sweat and make you feel fresh, clean, and dry.)

That's about it. I hope you guys thought this was helpful. I'm pretty sure I covered all of the topics you will need and have fun at your first convention! :D

Convention Skills - Easy Makeshift Cosplays!

Alright so you've made plans for the convention and you've only got enough money for gas, food, the tickets, and the hotel room...what are you going to do once you get there?! D: Conventions are meant for cosplays right? Well have no fear, Convention Skills have your back! The following are several different cosplays you can do that are easy enough to put together and are fairly cheap in case you don't have the supplies.

I warn you though, these aren't master cosplays, they are decent but what really makes them great is your own special touch! Also most of them are women cosplays...I'm going to have to find something for men now! lol

Girl Costumes:

1. Maid - this is possibly one of the easiest cosplays you can do! It works great with a short black dress or a short black skirt and a black shirt. After that find a frilly apron or go out and buy one. To save a little more money you can get a plain apron then decorate it yourself and really make it unique! Finish the look off with a pair of stockings and some heels! Wha-la! You're a cosplay maid!

2. Neko Accessories - Making a pair of ears and a tail is easy! You can look up online tutorials or try and figure it our on your own. Either way here is a simple way.
Get some felt, two colors, one of the color ears you wants (you're primary color) and pink. Get some scissors and hot glue. (Be careful with the hot glue gun! Yikes!) Cut out rounded triangles in the primary color felt in the size you want your ears to be. Cut out smaller triangles in the pink felt. Now use the hot glue gun and hot glue the pink triangles to the bigger ones. Let them dry and then hot glue them to the headband or hair clips and there you have it, cat ears! I know they are simple, but they are better than nothing! For a tail get a boa and hot glue one end of it to a hair clip or something that you can attach to your pants, cut the boa to the length you want your tail, then you're done! If you want your tail to curve you can get some wire or pipe cleaners and make the shape you want. Tie them to your tail or hot glue it together and your tail will stay curved!

3. Fighter - If you want to look like a fighter you can get some cargo pants and some boots, they look pretty fighter like. You can use whatever top you think looks cool with it and finish the look off with wraps on your knuckles and a bandanna! (you can find linen wraps usually at any kind of pharmacy or you can just rip up some white material and try and make your own. )

4. School Girl - This one is pretty cut and dry simple, like they are all supposed to be. Find a tie, a plaid, short skirt, a button up white shirt, some knee high socks, and some black shoes! :D You can add a blazer if you want but you don't have too.

5. Cosplay Bunny Waitress - You've seen the cosplay cafes right? Well there is always a bunny waitress girl! This one is easy to! Get a pair of fishnets, some nice heels or flats, and a black bathing suit. If you can find a pair of bunny ears wear those, or just make your own out of felt like you did the cat ears for the neko cosplay. If you can find a black bow-tie just use that, but if you need to make your own you can just get some black fabric and cut out a strip, hot glue some velcro on either side of the back so you can wear it like a choker. After that make a perfect black bow and hot glue velcro to the back of the bow and the front, center of your black choker. Now your bow sticks on! (of you could just tie it to your choker lol that works too) You can find velcro at any kind of arts and crafts supply store by the way. :) Also, if you don't like the way a choker feels then you can just use a black tie too. :)

If you want to finish off the look make your own serving tray with cardboard or something and decorate it!

Alright and that's it for today! Those were all the make-shift cosplays I can think of, however when I think of more I'll be back posting them on here!

Next thing I post about will be some crazy hair styles! Yay!

Convention Skills - Beautiful Hair and Skin

We all know that Japanese women have crazy secrets that no one else in the whole world know. We are all jealous and all girls wish they knew those age-old secrets for beautiful hair and skin. Well here's your edge! With this new Convention Skill you can get beautiful hair and skin not only for the anime convention that is coming up, but also all year round! Yay!

Conventions are all about the show. We load on the make-up and the hair products to get our face looking like a perfect, beautiful doll and our hair to look as silky and straight as a real life anime girl. Well, lets face it, while we look dazzling at the convention, the next day our make up is smeared and our hair is a hot mess. All that make-up, hair gel, and straightening does a number on the health of our skin and hair...that being said you want to make sure that you dive into the convention with healthy skin and hair and you want to be able to repair your skin and hair afterward...So lets get on with it! Below are some easy, inexpensive, home remedies that are simple and easy to do. I hope you enjoy using these as much as I do!

Yogurt Facial – For Dry or Dull Skin

Description:

Yogurt is amazing for skin because it has a soothing and gentle, yet dramatic, effect. If your skin is dry or dull you can use a yogurt facial to hydrate and revitalize your skin. It’s natural, easy, and convenient because you most likely have all the things you will need for it laying around your house somewhere. Yogurt is cool, thick, and creamy and it’s a very refreshing, luscious feeling as you apply it. Your face will feel like its really being pampered! You can do this before a party, while you’re watching TV, or just because you deserve a little treat.

Things You’ll Need:

1. Plain, natural yogurt (Don’t use flavored yogurt or yogurt with sugar in it!)

2. A makeup brush

Instructions:

Start with a clean face. Take your make up brush and get a heavy amount of the yogurt on it. Apply a generous amount over your entire face evenly. Let the yogurt sit on your face for five to ten minuets and then wipe it off with a cool, damp cloth. Then you’re done! Your face should now be hydrated and glowing.

After - cleaning your make-up brush:

Make up brushes can actually begin to get very dirty as you use them more and more. They can begin to hold excess make-up and bacteria and can actually affect the health of your skin. You will want to wash all of your brushes at some point, but for now you just finished spreading yogurt all over one and you’re going to need to wash it.

Things You’ll Need:

1. Your dirty make-up brush

2. A working faucet

3. Soap (shampoo, hand soap, or body wash will do)

4. A towel

Instructions:

To clean your make up brush you'll want to run it under water with the bristles facing downwards. Apply some hand soap, shampoo, or body wash to your hands and gently massage it into the bristles. Slowly add a little water at a time until the soap has been completely washed out. Dab the brush dry and then lay it out to let it finish drying naturally. You will want to take care with your make-up brush as you do this so that you can avoid loosing too many bristles.

Aspirin Facial – For Oily Skin and Acne

Description:

Aspirin has acetylsalicylic acid in it, which is similar to salicylic acid that is in most acne products on the market today. Because of that, aspirin facials are great for people who have oily skin or acne problems. Using this treatment a few times a week will not only soften your skin, but it will help to clear away acne and blemishes. It also helps with control oil. The aspirin facial will leave your skin feeling soft and refreshingly clean!

Things You’ll Need:

1. 5-10Aspirin (It can be solid or powdered)

2. A small shot glass sized glass or a small bowl

3. Water

4. Toothpick (or something along those lines)

Optional:

5. Plain, natural yogurt

6. Plain honey

7. Lemon juice

(Note: If you use solid aspirin it will be more of an rough texture that can help to exfoliate your skin while if you use a powdered aspirin it will be a much gentler texture, however both will have the same cleansing effect.)

Instructions:

First, if you are using solid aspirin you will want to crush it up, then pour the aspirin into the small glass or bowl, the glass should ideally be about 1 fluid once in size. Fill it up half way or three fourths of the way with water. You should only really need a generous few tablespoons to a little less than a cup of water for this part.

Here is where you would apply the optional ingredients. You can use a table spoon of yogurt, a few drops of lemon juice, and/or a TINY bit of honey. If you’re skin is rather dry but you still have acne, you may want to use some of the honey or yogurt because it will help to hydrate your skin, the lemon juice is better for people with oily skin though. It’s really a preference thing and if you can experiment using different amounts of the optional ingredients to get a recipe that is perfect for your ideal skin conditions.

Now stir your ingredients together with the toothpick or whatever you chose, you may want to stir it together throughout the application as well.

Start with a clean face then apply the mixture all over your face, chest, and or back; you can also use it to exfoliate your hands a bit if you’d wish. “Scrub” your face with it a minuet or two and then let it sit for five to fifteen minuets depending on how oily or sensitive your skin is. Wash it off with cool water. This recipe works best for people who have oily skin and/or acne problems, if your skin is easily irritated you may not want to use this because aspirin is a pretty strong ingredient.

Yogurt/Olive Oil Hair Treatment – For Dry Hair

Description:

If your hair is dry or dull you can use this recipe to help your hair in so many ways. A yogurt and olive oil hair treatment will make your hair shinier, silkier and healthier by replenishing natural oils that can sometimes be lost by using shampoos with harsh chemicals in them. This is especially great for people who have dry hair with split ends. After one treatment like this your hairdresser will be asking YOU for tips!

Things You’ll Need:

1. Plain, natural yogurt

2. Olive oil

3. A hair clip

4. You’re regular shampoo and conditioner

Optional:

5. A brush of some sort

Instructions:

Mix two cups of plain, natural yogurt with one and a half tablespoons of olive oil. Evenly distribute the mixture all over your hair, if you have dry ends or split ends then you may want to layer it on your ends a little more heavily than the rest of your hair. (For distributing the mixture throughout your hair you can use your hands or you can use a brush of some sort) Wrap your hair up in a bun or in a clip and keep it gathered up some way. Keep it away from your neck and shoulders. Let the mixture stay in your hair about ten or fifteen minuets then go and take a shower or at least wash your hair. (If you want extra shiny hair then you may want to use cold water.)

Start by rinsing your hair thoroughly then take some shampoo and conditioner and wash it how you would normally to make sure you get all of the mixture out of your hair otherwise it may come out looking and feeling a bit heavy or greasy. Let your hair dry and if it feels or looks greasy you will want to go and rinse or wash it again. Afterwards your hair will be hydrated, soft, and silky!

Green Tea Sauna – For Clogged Pores

Description:

ALERT! THIS TIP WAS FROM A REAL ASIAN! IT IS ESPECIALLY JAPANESE!!!!!!

We all know that after wearing make up several times, or even just because of natural oils that our skin produces, our pores can easily get clogged and begin looking dirty and more noticeable. Not only are clogged pores an appearance issue, but they can also lead to acne and other skin blemishes. This home-made green tea sauna will help to clean our your pores and revitalize your skin. Green tea has loads of antioxidants in it that will help your skin be healthier and more beautiful while the steam helps to clean our your pores. The heat is relaxing to your muscles so this is great to do after a stressful day and it will feel like your in a real spa!

Things you will need:

1. A large pot that you can boil water in.

2. 2 towels

3. Water

4. A few green tea bags.

Instructions:

Start with a clean face, remove any make up and possibly cleanse your face before starting this process for best results.

First boil a generous amount of water in the pot and put in the green tea bags. After the water has come to a boil and the tea has steeped in it a few minuets, get you’re first towel. (You will want this towel to be fairly large.) Lean over the pot as the steam rises and drape the towel over your head so that it traps in the steam and it all gets to your face.

Take caution here, the steam will be extremely hot after a few minuets. Let your face steam for about five minuets then take a little break and, using your second towel, dab your face with some cold water to cool off. Make sure this break is at least three minuets long to make sure your face gets enough cooling down time.

Now repeat the process until your face has gotten at least fifteen minuets of steaming time. If you are sensitive to heat you may want to take the steaming in shorter time intervals, do whatever you are comfortable with.

Once you’re done, finish up with dabbing your face again with cold water and then get a piece of ice and rub it all over your face, it will feel great and it will help close your pores. Now dry your face and admire it because now your pores should be cleaned out and appear smaller.
