Convention Skills: Makeshift-Male-Cosplays

Convention Skills: Makeshift-Male-Cosplays :)

So, previously I did a post about easy, makeshift cosplays for women, well they are super easy to do, but right now I'm going to give a few good ideas for guy costumes. First of all you can always put to use old Halloween costumes, you might want to drag them out and see what you can do with them. The biggest thing about making your own cosplays is getting creative.

1. Ninja - Its not hard to fins some black pants, black shirt, and to cut up a black ski-mask, iota classic. Everyone knows that, but if you want to make it look a little more like a ninja and a little less like a home invasion you can cut up some red(or any color you want) fabric and tie it around your waist like a belt and your wrists and ankles, ninjas always have those touches for some reason. :)

2. Pirate - Find an over-sized white shirt, cut out the collar and make a vertical cut about an inch or two down the front, get a white shoe lace or something and cut a few small holes to lace up the cut you just made. :) After that find a tight pair of black pants and some black/brown boots would be nice to add to the effect. To make it look a little more complete get a pirate hat and a thick belt.

3. Fighter-Guy - Clean up your chest and go shirtless or find some white fabric and cut it into strips and wrap your self up like they are bandages. After that put on some loose white pants, use a black piece of fabric for a belt and tie it at the front. Finally get some more fabric and cut it into long strips, use that to wrap up your hands like boxers do and your all set, wear whatever shoes you want/think looks best. :)

4. Romantic Guy - Put on a suit and make your hair look nice, there are tones of guys in anime who wear suits/tuxedos and if you walk around the convention in that you will probably get girls running up to you asking if you are "this" character from "this" anime...just shake your head yes and smile.

5. Steam-Punk - This isn't really a cosplay but if you have some steam punk accessories wear those with some funky hair! :D You'll get a lot of compliments!

6. School Guy - Find an old school uniform or find a few things that look like one, some khaki pants, a blazer, and a white button up shirt. :) Lots of animes are just school uniforms!

That's about all I can think of right now but don't forget that a little hair gel goes a long way :) and that you don't have to dress up like any particular character or even a character from an anime. (I guess you don't have to dress up at all really, but its so much more fun to dress up! :D )

B Gata H Kei: Yamada's First Time (anime review)

Sooo I started watching this hilarious anime tonight. Its called B Gata H Kei: Yamada's first time. I just finished the first episode and it was absolutely, without a doubt, one of the funniest animes I've ever seen in my whole, entire life.

I have to admit it is a little...adult. It is only for mature audiences, I'd say probably 7th or 8th grade up. (You know middle schoolers know these things! If not they NEED to! XD lol ) Anyways....

The series is about a young, amazingly pretty girl, Yamada, in her first year of high school...and her mission to sleep with 100 guys in high school! XD However, I know most of you might be thinking hentai, but she can't even get her first kiss (not for lack of trying or her super hot body or her adorable personality I'd like to say). She has set her sights on plain-jane, very-virgin, Kosuda for his sure lack of experience with women. However her lack of experience is obvious when she teases him, bullies him, flashes him, ignores him, and runs away from him. How much can one guy put up with?!

Either way I barely stopped laughing the whole time and the occasional, sweet romance is nice and refreshing. :3 It brought me much joy. If you are in the 8th grade+, don't mind the occasional panty shot/bra, and love to laugh I suggest you watch this romantic comedy because it is hilarious!

(Also, I'd like to point out now that I also like My Bride Is A Mermaid. Its hilarious too :) so if you like this one, check out that anime too. I'll do a review of My Bride Is A Mermaid soon.)

Kyoko: Wide Variety - Blues Con Booth! - Order? HA! I Think Not!

I'm starting to think up a few more themes for Kyoko. When summer comes around, of course, I'm going to be featuring a few special summer stories and Kyoko will change into a bathing suit. 2011, because she was so new, I didn't really have any special pictures of her for Christmas or New Years or anything but don't worry, that will change soon. So wish me luck on costume designs for our Cosplay Kitty Mascot - Kyoko! :D

Now, onto other business. Tomorrow I will be submitting a form to get a booth at Anime Blues Con. (ABC) in Memphis TN. I really hope I will be able to get a booth and pick up more readers there. I'm sure we all want more readers for Anime Lovers Delight. So, on that topic, I'm looking for someone to play Kyoko at my booth if I get it! If any of you have some ideas as to who could help me out I would love some suggestions. :) But remember, don't tell me anyone you don't want to see revealed a bit because she will be in Kyoko's signature Maid Cafe outfit unless I decide it should be different at the last minuet, unlikely because I LOVE her maid outfit! :D It's so sexy and adorable!

Now in the past i've tried to post weekly or monthly or semi monthly or whatever....I am ashamed to say that I have upheld no expectations for myself in that area. Honestly, I can try as hard as I like to post on a regular basis, but the moral of the story is....I am just not an orderly person and when I get an idea for an article I'll do it right then so I won't forget it and if I don't have an idea for a few weeks, sure I'll try to think of something because I want to post AT LEAST once a month! But yeah...the bottom line is I'm sorry. I know its so much better to post on specific increments of time but look at the bright side! It's always a surprise when you open up the blog! you could check it one week, and sure you might be a little disappointed that there isn't a new post, but then you open it up the next day and BAM! There is it prettier than a perfectly wrapped gift on Christmas! A new post! Then you will be able to thank the gods I finally posted and do whatever ritual you do in my honor before or after you read my post, whenever you choose! XD Sorry I couldn't help but joke a little!

So thats about it. I'm trying to come up with more costumes for our cosplay kitty because she loves to dress up, I'm applying for a booth at ABC, and I can never hope to post in any kind of specific incremental order.

Latest Books -Forgiven- Mysteries

Hey guys, so I just finished one of the best books I've ever read. I read the first one last year, its called "Jessica's Guide to Dating on the Dark Side" and it is so thrilling that I honestly can't keep quiet about it. I recently discovered that the wedding chapters are online and that the sequel, "Jessica Rules the Dark Side" had come out as well so I read the first one again, I soon grew addicted to the thrilling, romantic book and as soon as I snapped the first one shut I got on the computer, reading the wedding chapters, then rushed to the book store and bought the second one. From the time I got home until about an hour ago, except for sleep, I didn't put the book down. Despite my headache from my tense shoulders I continued reading, unable to rest decently without knowing how it ended. Bath Fataskey is one of the best authors I've ever read due to the way she writes. The book is told from Jessica's point of view and as you read through it she pulled you into the book, making you feel just like Jessica would and as if every character were real live people. This book touches me in a way that it is impossible for any sort of movie, anime, or manga...and they make me shiver and cry at some points. I can't stop raving about the book, but that isn't the only reason I can't keep quiet. As I read through the vivid book I laughed, cried, screamed, and swooned and felt every emotion to the max, I gritted my teeth at tense moment, blushed at romantic ones, and couldn't tear my eyes from the book as it drove me mad and I drank in the words that were like heaven as they pulled me into the book.

I know there are a lot of teenagers right now who are like 'vampires suck since twilight and I'm not jumping on the band wagon' I warn you, I have NOT jumped on the band wagon, although I have read, AND THOROUGHLY ENJOYED vampire books. Lets face it though, vampires are something all human kind has been obsessed with ever since they entered into our imaginations and lurked in the dark corners of our mind. What fascinates us about them is the fact that they rule the darkness and are obscure to us. What makes them romantic to girls is the same reason bad boys excite us. We love the idea of a man being tormented and slowly dragged into a world of craving for us...for our blood, and us having to tame them and keep them from the brink of insanity as they battle their true dark nature to not hurt us! Yeah....there is no shame in wanting a guy to crave you, or even have a huge battle inside himself or with someone else over you. So while I hate twilight and most generic vampire books, you are all forgiven if you like something like that...but only if you read Jassica's Guide to Dating on the Dark Side because that book is by far one of the most romantic, most exciting books I've ever read....*lost in thought as I drool over the love between Jessica and Lucius that I wish I had with him* Anyways, my favorite quality about the romance of this book is the vampire outlook on it. Techniquely they don't believe vampires can love, they can feel passion, but so far the only exception has been Lucius and Jessica because their love excells all bounds...but I'm losing the point.

In this book, after a couple share blood and get married, they are fiercely loyal to one another..it is an eternal bond that can never be broken and it is just so romantic to think about it...eternity with someone you love and never fearing or distrusting them ever again because you two have shared one of the most sacred moments any two beings could ever share. *I shiver at the very thought of it and I know I must go re-read every book one more time before I can actually get over this series.*

Now here we go to the mysteries. The second book in the series revolved mostly around how Jessica grows into a true vampire ruler and over comes her weakness inside her in order to save Lucius who has been framed for a murder and if his name is not cleared...he will disappear or will be 'destroyed'. That being said, its a bit of a mystery that one tries to solve as they read through it. Well...I am boasting to say that in the first quarter of the book, if not sooner,I already know who the killer is. *ha. ha. ha. suck on that I rule.* I also noticed something though. I noticed what it takes to hide the murderer from the readers and keep the mystery alive. So far here is what I've learned it takes.

1. Introduce many new characters together.
2. Only have them appear in groups of two or more for the most part.
3. Make them seem innocent.
4. Don't give them much face time and make them seem like a random character who is just an after thought.
5. Slowly reveal a little more about them as they get a little more face time in the book.

These are all things I've noticed in books when people are looking for a killer. You don't see them very much and you rarely see them alone by themselves or one on one with the main character. AND THEY ALWAYS SEEM INSIGNIFICANT!

Sooo thats the post for the day. :) hope you guys liked it.
