Convention Skills - Easy Makeshift Cosplays!

Alright so you've made plans for the convention and you've only got enough money for gas, food, the tickets, and the hotel room...what are you going to do once you get there?! D: Conventions are meant for cosplays right? Well have no fear, Convention Skills have your back! The following are several different cosplays you can do that are easy enough to put together and are fairly cheap in case you don't have the supplies.

I warn you though, these aren't master cosplays, they are decent but what really makes them great is your own special touch! Also most of them are women cosplays...I'm going to have to find something for men now! lol

Girl Costumes:

1. Maid - this is possibly one of the easiest cosplays you can do! It works great with a short black dress or a short black skirt and a black shirt. After that find a frilly apron or go out and buy one. To save a little more money you can get a plain apron then decorate it yourself and really make it unique! Finish the look off with a pair of stockings and some heels! Wha-la! You're a cosplay maid!

2. Neko Accessories - Making a pair of ears and a tail is easy! You can look up online tutorials or try and figure it our on your own. Either way here is a simple way.
Get some felt, two colors, one of the color ears you wants (you're primary color) and pink. Get some scissors and hot glue. (Be careful with the hot glue gun! Yikes!) Cut out rounded triangles in the primary color felt in the size you want your ears to be. Cut out smaller triangles in the pink felt. Now use the hot glue gun and hot glue the pink triangles to the bigger ones. Let them dry and then hot glue them to the headband or hair clips and there you have it, cat ears! I know they are simple, but they are better than nothing! For a tail get a boa and hot glue one end of it to a hair clip or something that you can attach to your pants, cut the boa to the length you want your tail, then you're done! If you want your tail to curve you can get some wire or pipe cleaners and make the shape you want. Tie them to your tail or hot glue it together and your tail will stay curved!

3. Fighter - If you want to look like a fighter you can get some cargo pants and some boots, they look pretty fighter like. You can use whatever top you think looks cool with it and finish the look off with wraps on your knuckles and a bandanna! (you can find linen wraps usually at any kind of pharmacy or you can just rip up some white material and try and make your own. )

4. School Girl - This one is pretty cut and dry simple, like they are all supposed to be. Find a tie, a plaid, short skirt, a button up white shirt, some knee high socks, and some black shoes! :D You can add a blazer if you want but you don't have too.

5. Cosplay Bunny Waitress - You've seen the cosplay cafes right? Well there is always a bunny waitress girl! This one is easy to! Get a pair of fishnets, some nice heels or flats, and a black bathing suit. If you can find a pair of bunny ears wear those, or just make your own out of felt like you did the cat ears for the neko cosplay. If you can find a black bow-tie just use that, but if you need to make your own you can just get some black fabric and cut out a strip, hot glue some velcro on either side of the back so you can wear it like a choker. After that make a perfect black bow and hot glue velcro to the back of the bow and the front, center of your black choker. Now your bow sticks on! (of you could just tie it to your choker lol that works too) You can find velcro at any kind of arts and crafts supply store by the way. :) Also, if you don't like the way a choker feels then you can just use a black tie too. :)

If you want to finish off the look make your own serving tray with cardboard or something and decorate it!

Alright and that's it for today! Those were all the make-shift cosplays I can think of, however when I think of more I'll be back posting them on here!

Next thing I post about will be some crazy hair styles! Yay!
